Apple Watch is Improving its Anti-theft Security

Apple Watch users noticed a security issue with their devices, an issue that Apple has considered as a feature, and here it is: in order to pair your Apple Watch with an iPhone while you don’t have a passcode, all you need to do is to reset it, and that’s what makes it easier for a thief to use your watch on a new iPhone. Apple explained it as a way to pair your device in case you forgot about your passcode.

At the occasion of the WWDC 2015, the company has improved this security issue with the new WatchOS 2 update, so starting from this fall, you will need the same Activation Lock as your iPhone, unlocking will require your iCloud Apple ID and password. Now that the Apple Watch will have its own apps to gain some independence from the iPhone, security will be much more important regarding your data.
