Google Maps comes to the Apple Watch

Beside the newly announced Nexus 5X and 6P, Google has also announced a new App for the Apple Watch, which is the number one mapping app in the world, by this announcement, the company seems to be taking iOS seriously, first with the Android Wear compatibility, and now with Google maps supported on the Apple Watch.

Google Maps for the Wath OS can be downloaded from the App Store, once installed, the app will sync with your iPhone’s app to show your main saved locations which are basically Home and Work, along with your most recent routes on the bottom, tapping on one of them will bring you the directions, so if you need another place to show, then you need to bring out your phone and pull up the directions, you can either see the walking, biking or the public transportation directions.

Don’t get too excited about it, despite this big announcement, the app still have some limitations, on your wrist, you will not be able to see that colored map with the cool arrows and streets, you can only see a blue sign telling you when to turn left or right or to go straight for a certain displayed distance, so that’s kind of disappointing, but anyway, while waiting for better updates, you will still enjoy the accurate system.

So if you’re an Apple Watch owner, you can give it a try and download it from here.
