The Microsoft Band 2 is officially unveiled

Reports and rumors were lately talking about the second gen Microsoft Band fitness tracker, and all we have covered before was true, in addition of new features and info,  Microsoft has improved the design and added some extra features to make it the most complete fitness tracker in the market.

The Microsoft band 2 has now a curved screen and a soft band material instead of the older rigid one that made us uncomfortable, the curved OLED touch screen is a Gorilla Glass 3 made to resist all conditions, so what about features: The Band 2 comes now with a barometer to measure elevation, something very useful for climbers and hikers, also, the device can measure your VO2 max, which is your maximal consumption of oxygen.

The rest of the features are the same as the older generation, which is already very interesting, a GPS for an accurate running experience, UV detection, guided workouts and Cortana reminder, the Microsoft Band 2 also bring smartphone notifications and calls, and for better experience, the company partnered with some popular fitness apps like MyFitnessPal, Strava and MapMyRun.

The device is still compatible with all the three major mobile OS, Android, iOS and of course Windows Phone, so if you want to enjoy the best fitness tracker “on paper” before seeing some reviews, you can pre-order it now for $249, or wait for 30 October to get it from the stores.
